Active Probiotics for Aging Skin
This essence contains more than one billion active probiotic microorganisms per milliliter, which means that each drop of essence contains 50 million probiotic microorganisms. This serum is the first skin care product in the world to make this claim.

We've discovered an array of probiotic species essential to skin health and incorporated them into this ground-breaking formula. This formula contains no water, and although the probiotic species are encapsulated, they are still active and still have the ability to multiply on the skin. Once these bacteria come into contact with the moisture on the skin, they can be activated or the use of moisturizer can help them to do better. Once the probiotics are activated, they can correct uneven skin tone and strengthen the skin barrier function, making the skin firmer, plumper and more elastic. The serum contains three strains—all derived from lactic acid bacteria. We've picked them for their skincare benefits and their ability to work synergistically with each other.
And when choosing a probiotic product, we have to consider the type of bacteria and their efficacy. And thousands of probiotics each deliver unique benefits.
Not only do Lactobacilli meet all of these criteria, they offer a number of benefits. Lactobacillus species produce lactic acid, which keeps the pH of the skin acidic. Among these Lactobacillus species, many species can produce antimicrobial peptides in large quantities, which can provide protection against the invasion of pathogens.
The number of viable microorganisms was calculated in colony forming units per gram (cfu/g). But keeping probiotics alive is very difficult—the product must be preservative-free, and every step of production requires care.
Physical Lactobacillus is one of those Lactobacilli that work on the skin and deliver excellent results. Not long ago, scientists reclassified the entire genus of Lactobacillus, so now its official name is Lactobacillus plantarum. Lactobacillus plantarum gets its name because it is associated with plants and is found on almost every leaf, and is found naturally on human skin.
The strain has been used to treat severe burns and has been shown to prevent secondary infections. Because it produces a large number of antimicrobial peptides, which can effectively inhibit pathogens.
The latest research shows that the microbes can also metabolize environmental toxins such as pesticides, thereby reducing such everyday pollution. Before screening out the target strain, we tested more than 20 strains and finally isolated a wild-type strain from healthy human skin. And we chose it for its ability to produce hyaluronic acid and antimicrobial peptides, which provide excellent protection for the skin.
We think of it as wearing a microbial suit that protects us from potential pathogens using competitive repulsion coupled with the secretion of antimicrobial titanium.
The next microorganism is Lactobacillus rhamnosus. It has also recently changed its name and is now officially known as Lactobacillus rhamnosus.
This Lactobacillus is commonly associated with humans, but can also be isolated from dairy products. After years of research, more than 800 studies have shown that Lactobacillus rhamnosus has the following effects as a probiotic:
> Can reduce acne symptoms and increase T-link formation to enhance skin barrier function.
> Can prevent Staphylococcus aureus infection.
> Stimulates the growth of epithelial cells and has also been shown to be effective against atopic dermatitis in infants. > Combined with prebiotics and antioxidants to protect against UV rays.
Tests from our research show that these probiotics can survive for two years from the time of manufacture, and we have also proven that this product is free of pathogenic microorganisms. Temperature is an important consideration in shipping and storage. This product needs to be stored above 4 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is lower than 4 degrees, the water in the cells is at risk of freezing. Water expands as it freezes, and bacterial cell membranes rupture and die as a result. As a result, the number of probiotics will be drastically reduced. In addition, this essence must also be kept below 35 degrees Celsius. When the temperature exceeds this limit, the enzymes in the probiotics will start to deteriorate and the cells will no longer survive.
Principle of action
Total Active Probiotic Balancing Serum slows down aging by strengthening moisture retention and slowing the rate of elastin and collagen degradation. The overall condition of the skin will be improved by:
Protection — One of the main functions of the skin microbiome is to protect your skin from pathogens. If your skin's microbe density isn't high enough, invasive microbes will find space and food to invade. We aim to increase the density of beneficial microbes so that invasive microbes cannot find a foothold. This prevents the activation of the skin's immune system, thereby reducing the basic burden on the skin.
Moisturizing - The body produces lactic acid to maintain the skin's pH balance and retain moisture on the skin's surface. Recent studies have found that most of the lactic acid on the skin is actually produced by microorganisms. Lactobacilli are particularly good at producing lactic acid, hence their name.
Skin barrier function - T-junctions were discovered in 2008. This pattern of cell bonding is very important to the health of the skin. Microorganisms are responsible for regulating tight junctions, so the use of probiotic microbes can radically improve the skin's barrier function.
Communication - One of the functions of the probiotic microbes in this serum centers on their communication with your skin cells. Lactobacillus cells are able to stick to your skin cells (at specific junctions), driving the cells responsible for regulating the immune response to send messages to nearby cells. This not only reduces subclinical inflammation but also delays aging.
main ingredient
Probiotic Lactic Acid Microorganisms contains one billion colony forming units per milliliter.
This product does not contain prebiotics - the food for probiotics. When the serum is used with products containing inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharides—such as Esse Plus range of self-repairing moisturizing night cream, self-generating protection moisturizing day cream or any of Esse's Omega moisturizers, you will experience to the full benefits of a serum.
skin problems
Total Active Probiotic Balancing Serum can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions. Two in particular deserve mention:
Acne - We have found that when a serum is used in conjunction with a skincare routine for sensitive skin (reduces sensitivity, maintains low pH, does not strip natural oils), it works exceptionally well for acne - especially in adults. We have not yet determined the mechanism of action. But endogenous lactic acid from lactic acid bacteria that thrive on the skin may be the key.
Please refer to the "Skin Problems" section of the website for details.
Eczema - Staphylococcus aureus colonizing the skin surface in large numbers is responsible for most eczema conditions. These are opportunistic, invasive microorganisms that disrupt the skin's barrier function by binding to skin cells (keratinocytes), while radically shortening the lifespan of skin cells. The Total Active Probiotic Balance Serum contains billions of live lactic acid bacteria microbes that compete with other microbes for the binding sites of skin cells. Once the lactic acid bacteria are bound to the skin cells, these binding points can no longer bind to the Staphylococcus aureus, so the cells will be much healthier. Over time, eczema will improve dramatically, especially when used with a moisturizer rich in prebiotics.
Instructions
Total Probiotics Balancing Serum is suitable for all skin types and through its highly evolved bio-balancing action, it is exceptionally effective for any type of tired/stressed skin.
For initial use, it is recommended to use once a day, and gradually introduce Total Active Probiotic Balancing Serum into your daily skincare routine for 1-2 weeks, then gradually increase to twice a day. When skin condition improves, reduce usage to maintenance dose. Use with Esse's essence will enhance the activation of microorganisms, if followed by Esse's moisturizing cream, the effect will be more complete.
Customers may experience a slight itchy/tingling sensation immediately after application, this is normal. Sensitivity testing has shown this product to be 24% less irritating to the skin than distilled water.
Remember that Esse Plus series products cannot be used with other series of skin care products at the same time. This line of formulas is designed to improve the skin's microbiome over time. If the skin's ecosystem is polluted, or if the pH level changes, the effectiveness of this series will be affected.
