About
history
Esse means "existence" in Latin.
Esse was founded in 2002 by chemist Trevor Steyn. Stein had traveled to South Africa in search of medicinal plants for new medicines. In the process, it was discovered that some extracts from these plants could be applied to skin care products, so Esse was founded to bring these new plant essences to the market.
Everything of Esse started in South Africa, and through unremitting efforts, it has gained a place in the emerging market of organic skin care.
Since 2008, with the launch of the Human Microbiome Project, Trevor has been actively applying breakthroughs in human microbiome research to skin care, and in 2009 led the company's research into probiotic skin care. The early research of the Human Microbiome Project began to change some traditional views of the skin. At the same time, Esse also began to regard the skin as an ecosystem where human beings and microbial cells coexist, and applied this new view to product development. In the future, Esse will continue to actively research new types of probiotics and their delivery methods, and apply them to skin care products, hoping to fight aging and optimize skin health.
idea
Esse applies what it learns about the human microbiome to skin care that combats aging, creating some of the world's most advanced organic skin care products. Esse is committed to providing ethical and sustainable skincare products for the benefit of the environment, stakeholders and customers.
Esse does not believe in compromising the skin for short-term cosmetic results. Instead, Esse sees the long-term goal as optimizing skin health, with the ultimate goal of slowing aging.
Esse uses prebiotics to selectively support the growth of beneficial microbes and has added live probiotic microbes to both serums to improve the function of the skin microbiome. Through green chemistry, the skin is restored to its natural and balanced state.
